One of the largest projects from the Election Design Fellowship has been the implementation of a new ballot design. Given the set of ballot design recommendation published by AIGA and the Election Assistance Committee in 2007, a review was completed for each of the ballots for Oregon’s thirty-six counties and a new ballot design was created for each.

Presented here is the current ballot style (left) and the proposed design (right).

This project is on-going. Conversations are currently being held with the vendor that provides ballot layout and printing services for the state. A proposed design will be presented to each of the counties that will improve voter experience while still considering county budgets and restrictions with the layout software.
